Associate Attorney

Lonich Patton Ehrlich Policastri, PC a Family Law and Estate Planning firm is looking for a Family Law Associate to join our firm (1+ – 5 years).

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary ranges from $120K – $180K for associates with 1+ years of experience, higher base salary commensurate with years of experience

What you will be responsible for

  • Requests for orders and responses
  • Discovery demands and responses
  • Legal research and briefing
  • Drafting prenuptial and postnuptial agreements
  • Drafting judgments and marital settlement agreements
  • Supporting lead attorneys on cases at trial
  • Working and communicating with clients
  • Working and communicating with Opposing Counsel
  • Preparing for and attending experience appropriate hearings and other court appearances

Qualifications

  • J.D. Degree and Admission to practice law in the state of California
  • A minimum of 1+ years of Family Law experience
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Ability to effectively explain complex legal issues to non-lawyers
  • Ability to work collaboratively which allows input from others
  • Ability to efficiently execute multiple time-sensitive projects
  • Ability to synthesize complex information effectively and translate complicated issues into actionable recommendations and solutions

Preferred Qualifications for Our Ideal Candidate

  • Ability to handle high asset, high conflict and complex cases
  • Financial or tax background or undergraduate degree
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office, including specifically Word and Excel, Abacus, DissoMaster and other software applications

Family Law Paralegal

Lonich Patton Ehrlich Policastri, PC, a respected law firm specializing in family law and estate planning, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Family Law Paralegal to support a team of attorneys in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

About the Role

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities while supporting attorneys through all stages of case management. Strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a proactive attitude are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, declarations, judgments, FLARPLs, and discovery-related correspondence.
  • Assist with trial preparation, document productions, subpoenas, and disclosures.
  • Organize and manage case files, discovery materials, and court filings.
  • Calendar deadlines, maintain case status updates, and ensure timely responses.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
  • Conduct legal research, organize exhibits, and prepare materials for hearings and trials.
  • Perform various administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2+) years of experience as a Family Law Paralegal.
  • Paralegal certification required; Notary Public is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of California family law procedures, terminology, and court systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Pro, Outlook, and case management tools such as Abacus and Green Filing.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, judgment, and ability to prioritize competing tasks under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Calendar Clerk

Lonich Patton Ehrlich Policastri, PC is looking for a part time calendar clerk to ensure all deadlines are accurately and timely entered according to firm policy. During slow times, this position will back up the other legal secretaries in the office with overflow projects, as time permits.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Position requires an organized detail oriented individual with emphasis on accuracy
  • Excellent judgment and discretion
  • Fast learner
  • Strong time management skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently
  • Follow through to ensure completion of tasks
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills and an ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook Calendar and Abacus a plus
  • Ability to work and think independently
  • Prior law firm and calendaring software experience preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of legal formats, procedures and terminology is a plus
  • Graduation from high school or GED; some college or business school is a plus
  • Starting salary is comparable to going rates and will depend on experience.
