About Samin N. Yazdi

Samin graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in History. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Pennsylvania State University in 2024.

During law school, Samin served as Vice President of the First-Generation Law Students Association and as Co-Chair of the Criminal Law Society’s Criminal Reform Conference. In these roles, she helped organize various events, including an annual conference focused on raising awareness and advancing reform in areas such as juvenile justice, immigration, police accountability, and mental health and disability within the criminal justice system.

She gained hands-on experience through legal clinics, where she assisted community members with estate planning and provided family law services. In addition, she interned with county legal departments and criminal defense firms, further deepening her practical legal skills.

Samin joined Lonich Patton Ehrlich Policastri as a law clerk in 2024. She is drawn to family law for its dynamic blend of mediation, conflict resolution, litigation, and negotiation—areas she is deeply passionate about because they allow her to problem-solve creatively, engage with the human side of the law, collaborate meaningfully, and support individuals through some of life’s most challenging transitions.

A Bay Area native, Samin enjoys spending her time outside the office hiking local trails, spending time with her family, or tackling a new puzzle.
