About Emily M. Vander Lans

Emily Vander Lans graduated from Texas Christian University in 2018, double majoring in Political Science and Writing. Emily, a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, spent her time at TCU involved with Court Appointed Special Advocates/Guardians ad Litem (CASA/GAL). She also served on the board of the Pre-Law Club and interned at The Net, a Fort Worth non-profit. During her senior year with The Net, Emily mentored refugee children, visited the county jail to support women involved in prostitution cases, and attended bimonthly diversion court proceedings for victims of sex-trafficking.

Emily received her Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2021. During her time as a law student, Emily competed in The Galloway Criminal Moot Court program where her appellate brief was selected for oral arguments. As a Board Member of the Family Law Society, Emily helped to organize events and panels for law students to network with family law judges and attorneys. Following her first year of law school, Emily worked for a family law and estate planning solo practitioner, where she conducted discovery, wrote pleadings and client declarations, and drafted wills and trusts.

Emily joined Lonich Patton Ehrlich Policastri in 2020 as a law clerk and became an associate upon passing the California Bar exam in 2021. During her time at LPEP, Emily has gained critical experience working with clients in divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, and domestic violence cases. Emily shows each of her clients the compassion, respect, and empathy they deserve. She is passionate about advocating for people who are going through the often stressful and traumatic legal processes.

Emily is originally from Huntington Beach, California and enjoys going to the beach to surf. When she is not at the office, Emily can be found hiking, attending a yoga class, or traveling to different countries.
